I see that the max temperature for these are set at 400°F. I would like to use a C405E-800 that will be exposed to a max temperature of 400°F, but the main operating temperature will be 230°F. If there were changes in the application and it was to run at 400°F for long periods of time, would that cause issues for the KLD? Is there any other worries or things to consider before selecting this? The shaft will be of similar material so thermal expansion rate will be about the same.
Thank you for your time.

High temperature operation causes expansion of the shaft, locking device, and hub if these are not like materials, and contact pressures can change. Ultimately, this could result in slippage and/or hub failure. Any time there is an expected prolonged temperature at/around 400° F, we suggest you contact one of our in-house engineers. Our engineers are available Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm EST. Just give us a call at 1-800-542-6552 and ask to speak with our engineering team.
